Honoring IT professionals across UC Davis Health

Dear Colleagues,  

Today, on National IT Professionals Day, I want to express deep appreciation for our outstanding IT teams whose behind-the-scenes work keeps UC Davis Health running smoothly and supports patient care teams, our medical and nursing schools, and employees across the health system. 

Healthcare IT demands technical expertise, persistence and creative problem-solving to support optimal patient care, research, education and daily operations. Our IT teams meet these challenges with exceptional skill and dedication. 

Their efforts have helped UC Davis Health earn repeated international recognition as a CHIME Digital Health Most Wired organization, reflecting our effective use of technology to improve the health of our community. 

Much of this work happens behind the scenes, from upgrading systems and strengthening cybersecurity to protecting sensitive data and ensuring critical tools and applications are available when they are needed most. 

From IT infrastructure and cyber security to enterprise data, applications, IT business operations, portfolio planning teams, academic information systems professionals, and many others, our IT professionals help keep our technology reliable and secure.
