Marcia Faustin poses alongside her life-size, 3-D printed statue at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Fan Festival in Dallas. The exhibition honors 26 STEM innovators powering the world of sports.
The exhibit features 26 innovators in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) who are transforming the world of sports and inspiring what’s possible on and off the field. The life-size, 3D-printed statues have been on display throughout the World Cup.
Faustin is a family medicine and sports medicine physician, the co-head team physician for the UC Davis Division I Collegiate Athletics team and the co-head team physician for the USA Gymnastics Women’s National Team during the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, caring for world-class athletes like Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee.
"I am honored and humbled to have a statue alongside 25 other women in STEM and sport, in #IfThenSheCan – The Exhibit: Game Changers,” said Faustin. “Representation matters, and I am thankful to Lyda Hill Philanthropy for their pursuit to change the world."
The 26 Game Changers highlight the ways STEM shapes the global sports industry — from data analytics and biomechanics to sports medicine and engineering. Faustin’s recognition highlights her contributions to sports at the collegiate and national levels.
