Construction activity: Concrete drilling in SESP basement

Starting Wednesday, July 15, the California Tower team will begin concrete drilling in the SESP basement to construct the connections between the SESP and the California Tower.

Please note the following details:

• Work will begin Wednesday, July 15, and continue Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. Anticipated completion is May 2027. 

• Concrete drilling will produce loud noise and vibrations throughout the SESP between Levels 0 and 4. 

• The vibrations will not cause structural damage to the SESP. 

• Noise and vibration levels will vary throughout the work each day. 

• Hearing protection has been provided to staff and patients in the areas expected to experience the greatest impacts. 

• If noise or vibration disrupts hospital operations, contact Christina Middleton at 650-269-0047 for immediate assistance.
