The April issue of the newsletter highlights the central role of the basic sciences in advancing health at UC Davis. All six basic sciences departments ranked among the top 20 nationally in National Institutes of Health funding, underscoring the strength and impact of the basic sciences to the university's research enterprise. The issue also features the basic science department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, showcasing research that underpins emerging therapies and advances in biomedical science. In addition, the newsletter highlights the work of the Evaluation team, which partners with research programs to strengthen outcomes, measure impact, and support strategic decision‑making across the research enterprise.

The July 2026 newsletter highlights the importance of collaboration in advancing discovery. The issue features the 2026 Reaching Across the Causeway and Shared Equipment award recipients, celebrates the latest Research Image Competition winner, and recaps the Convergence Research Celebration, which showcased interdisciplinary research across UC Davis.
