How to Apply | Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship | UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

To be eligible for entry into the forensic residency training program, the applicant must have completed a four-year ACGME accredited training program in general psychiatry or an approved program that combines general and child and adolescent psychiatry. 

Applicants selected for the program must have a valid California medical license prior to beginning training.

The application process requires the following:

• A completed application
• A personal statement of one to two pages in length
• Three letters of recommendation -
  • One of these letters should be from the Dean of Student Affairs of your medical school
  • One from your current training director and one from a psychiatrist familiar with your work who should comment on past performance and professional integrity
• A copy of your medical school transcript and diploma
• Two general writing samples - These writing samples may include forensic reports or evaluations, authored articles, papers, or patient evaluations/discharge summaries.
• A copy of your current medical license
• A curriculum vitae
